This shopping center in Coral Gables is an Oasis in Miami. Created to compete with the glamor of Bal Habor, Merrick Park has stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fith Avenue and Nordstrom. When it was established, based on statistics of the affluence of adjoining neighborhoods, such as the Coral Gables and Coconut Grove neighborhood , it was thought that it would be a resounding success, but it has been hard to gain a reputation. Many stores of important designers like Roberto Cavalli arrived and left since the clientele was scarce. Now he is charging a little life.
